Once again, the 16th Annual Milton Winter Carnival was a great event. Despite the colder than normal temperatures and less than perfect ice conditions, we had 60+ sleds register for radar runs and/or ice drags. We also had a spectacular number of Vintage Sleds show up for display. Rochester Sports Center will be awarding $25 Gift Certificates to all winners who rode a Polaris or Arctic Cat in the races. The day ended on a bit of a sad note, when the Evergreen Valley Club Tucker ended up in the bottom of Three Ponds. For the safety of all riders crossing the ice, Mike Hazeltine was in the grooming machine working to remove the snow banks, when the machine and drag went through the ice. Mike was able to get himself out and make it to the ice opening, where there were many club members and spectators waiting to help him out. Although the open water is marked off, please be CAUTIOUS when on Milton Three Ponds.
